Cancer breathlessness breakthrough? common drug put to the test

NCT ID NCT03367156

Summary

This study is testing whether a common steroid drug called dexamethasone can help control severe shortness of breath in cancer patients. About 135 participants with cancer and significant breathlessness were randomly assigned to receive either the drug or a placebo for two weeks. The main goal is to see if the drug reduces the intensity of the symptom and improves quality of life compared to the dummy pill.
