Mini-Tumors in a dish could unlock personalized breast cancer care

NCT ID NCT05317221

First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026

Summary

This study aims to create a 'living biobank' of breast cancer organoids—tiny 3D tumor models grown from a patient's own cancer tissue. Researchers will test whether these organoids mimic the original tumor's behavior and can predict how the cancer will respond to treatments. The study enrolls 60 women with certain breast cancer subtypes who are scheduled for surgery. No new treatments are given; the goal is to build a tool for future personalized medicine.
