Eyes may reveal best depression treatment

NCT ID NCT07474974

Summary

This study aims to find out if special light-sensitive cells in the back of the eye can help predict which patients with hard-to-treat depression will respond well to a non-invasive brain stimulation therapy. Researchers will give 44 participants with treatment-resistant depression a standard magnetic brain stimulation treatment and measure their eye cell function before and after. The goal is to develop a simple test to guide doctors toward more personalized and effective treatment plans.
