Scientists hunt for blood test to predict antidepressant success

NCT ID NCT02051413

Summary

This study aimed to find biological markers that could predict who will respond well to the antidepressant venlafaxine. Researchers followed 60 people with major depression and 20 healthy volunteers for three months. They measured specific proteins in the blood and linked them to changes in depression symptoms to see if a simple test could one day guide treatment.
