Church-Based depression screening shows promise in black communities

Summary
This study looked at whether training community health workers to screen for depression in Black churches helps more people get treatment. Over 500 adults from 30 churches took part. One group got a brief intervention and referral, while the other got usual referral. The goal was to see which approach works better for connecting people to mental health care.
