Scientists track brain and body to unlock why depression makes effort feel impossible
NCT ID NCT06648460
Summary
This study aims to better understand why people with depression often struggle with motivation and effort. Researchers will measure brain activity, heart rate, breathing, and energy use in 90 people (some with depression, some without) while they walk on a treadmill and make choices about how much effort to expend. The goal is to gather detailed information to help develop better future treatments for this common symptom.
