Summary

This study tested a new extended-release capsule called levomilnacipran for treating major depressive disorder. It involved 392 adults aged 18 to 65 and compared the new drug to duloxetine, a standard antidepressant, over 8 weeks. The goal was to see if the new drug works better or as well at reducing depression symptoms, measured by a standard rating scale.
