Scientists hunt for blood clues to why antidepressants fail

NCT ID NCT03118193

Summary

This study aimed to find biological markers in the blood, urine, and other samples that could help explain why up to 40% of people with depression do not respond to standard antidepressant medications. Researchers enrolled 50 adults with major depression who were not taking medication, collecting samples to analyze their unique chemical profiles. The goal was to better understand the biology of depression to potentially guide more personalized treatment in the future.
