ER pharmacists tackle risky pills for dementia patients
NCT ID NCT06273917
First seen Nov 05, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looked at whether emergency room pharmacists can help reduce the use of certain risky medications (like sedatives) in people with dementia or mild memory problems. Researchers worked with 300 patients to see if pharmacists could safely recommend stopping these drugs and communicate with the patient's regular doctor. The goal was to test if this approach is possible and acceptable, not yet to prove it improves health.
