Could cleaning your teeth ease your arthritis?
NCT ID NCT02779179
Summary
This small study tested whether treating gum disease (periodontitis) could help reduce the severity of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in people who have both conditions. Researchers enrolled 22 patients with both RA and gum disease to see if professional dental cleaning and treatment improved their arthritis symptoms over three months. The goal was to see if managing this common dental problem could be a helpful part of controlling RA.
