Ultrasound quality: experts aim to standardize liver imaging
NCT ID NCT07656181
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study gathers international experts to agree on what makes a high-quality contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) of the liver. Using a Delphi process, they will rate and refine quality indicators. The goal is to create a standardized tool for assessing image quality, improving consistency in diagnosis and research.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
SonoVue® contrast agent
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to standardized quality criteria and a rating tool for liver CEUS exams, helping doctors get clearer and more reliable images.
What could go wrong
This is a small expert consensus study (35 participants), not a clinical trial testing a treatment. The results may not be widely adopted or may need further validation.
