Cancer center tests new calming strategies for distressed patients

NCT ID NCT05431595

Summary

This study aims to find the best medication to calm severe agitation and restlessness (called agitated delirium) in hospitalized cancer patients. Researchers are comparing three different calming drugs against a placebo (a treatment with no active drug), along with standard comfort care, to see which one works best. The goal is to reduce patient distress and suffering while minimizing side effects from the medications.
