New ER program aims to catch dangerous confusion in seniors
NCT ID NCT05638945
Summary
This study tested a new training program for emergency department (ED) staff to help them better screen for and detect delirium, a dangerous state of sudden confusion, in older adult patients. The program trained 'champion' staff members who then taught their colleagues. Researchers reviewed thousands of patient charts to see if the training led to more accurate identification of delirium and better safety measures for patients.
