First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study will examine what happens when hospitals stop using urine dipstick tests to diagnose urinary tract infections (UTIs). Researchers will compare data from nearly half a million hospital visits before and after the change, looking at antibiotic use, infection severity, and patient safety. The goal is to see if removing this quick test leads to better, more accurate care without increasing risks.
