Simple checklist could help GPs spot baby hip issues earlier
NCT ID NCT04101903
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a simple checklist can help general practitioners (GPs) better diagnose developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) in babies during routine 6-week checkups. About 172 GP practices in England will be split into two groups: one using the checklist and one continuing usual care. The goal is to see if the checklist reduces missed cases and unnecessary referrals, saving families and the NHS time and money.
