Major trial tests skipping radiation for Low-Risk breast cancer
NCT ID NCT07554573
First seen May 04, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looks at whether women with a very early form of breast cancer called DCIS, who have a low-risk genetic score, can safely avoid radiation therapy after lumpectomy. About 5,270 women will be enrolled and followed to see if skipping radiation leads to a similar rate of cancer coming back in the same breast. The goal is to spare low-risk patients from unnecessary treatment side effects.
