New scan technique may reveal early if kidney cancer drugs are effective
NCT ID NCT01224288
First seen Nov 10, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests whether a special type of CT scan (DCE-CT) can show early on if targeted therapy drugs for advanced kidney cancer are working. About 120 adults with metastatic renal cell carcinoma will get these scans before and shortly after starting treatment. The goal is to see if changes in tumor blood flow can predict treatment success, without directly treating the cancer itself.
