Doctors test High-Tech 3D maps for Parkinson's brain surgery
NCT ID NCT06191874
Summary
This study tested whether new 3D visualization software helps doctors plan deep brain stimulation surgery more accurately than current standard tools. Researchers reviewed medical records of 20 Parkinson's patients who had the surgery, comparing where electrodes were actually placed versus where both the new software and standard tools predicted they should go. The study didn't involve any new treatments or patient visits—it only analyzed existing surgical data to see if the new software provided better planning information.
