Brain zap tweak could unlock better movement for Parkinson's patients

NCT ID NCT05557864

Summary

This study aims to understand how the precise location of deep brain stimulation (DBS) in the brain affects movement difficulties in people with Parkinson's disease. Researchers are studying 24 patients who already have a DBS implant to see if adjusting the stimulation target can improve symptoms like stiffness and freezing that often don't respond well to standard medications. The goal is to gather information that could help doctors personalize future DBS treatments for better symptom control.
