Brain stimulation tweak could clear double vision for Parkinson's patients

NCT ID NCT06857851

Summary

This study aims to see if fine-tuning deep brain stimulation (DBS) settings can help improve specific vision problems common in Parkinson's disease, like double vision and difficulty focusing at different depths. Researchers will study 80 people who already have DBS implants, using eye-tracking technology and brain scans to find the best stimulation settings. The goal is to reduce these visual symptoms while keeping the DBS benefits for movement problems like tremor and stiffness.
