Brain scans unlock mystery of memory loss after Parkinson's surgery

NCT ID NCT06960096

Summary

This study aims to understand why some Parkinson's patients experience thinking and memory problems after deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery. Researchers will use MRI brain scans on 55 patients who have had the surgery, comparing brain activity with the stimulation turned on and off. The goal is to learn how the treatment affects brain networks to help doctors better select patients and adjust treatment to reduce these side effects.
