Can two common compounds supercharge CAR-T against myeloma?

NCT ID NCT06940297

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This phase II trial at Mayo Clinic is testing whether adding dasatinib and quercetin to standard CAR-T therapy can improve outcomes for people with multiple myeloma that has returned or not responded to prior treatments. The study will enroll 44 adults who have already tried at least three other therapies. Participants receive the drug combination along with chemotherapy and CAR-T cells, and researchers will measure how many achieve undetectable cancer levels.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

dasatinib and quercetin

What this could lead to

If successful, this combination could improve the effectiveness of CAR-T therapy for multiple myeloma, helping more patients achieve deep remission.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-phase trial with only 44 participants. The added benefit of dasatinib and quercetin is unproven, and side effects from the combination are not yet well understood.
