Hopeful trial tests common drug for rare, complex heart condition
NCT ID NCT05741658
Summary
This study is testing if a drug called dapagliflozin, already used for other types of heart failure, can help adults born with a Fontan circulation. The goal is to see if the drug can reduce dangerous fluid pressure in their veins and improve their ability to exercise and feel better. About 29 stable adult patients will take the drug daily for four weeks while researchers measure changes in their body fluid, exercise capacity, and heart failure symptoms.
