First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested a web-based dance movement therapy program for women with breast cancer undergoing chemotherapy. 67 participants were asked to dance at home three times a week for at least 70 minutes per session. Researchers measured changes in alexithymia (difficulty identifying and expressing emotions) and frailty. The goal was to see if this online program is acceptable and helpful for patients.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

web-based dance movement therapy

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a gentle, home-based way to help women with breast cancer feel more connected to their emotions and less physically frail during chemotherapy.

What could go wrong

This is a small, completed study with only 67 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The therapy is an add-on to standard care, not a treatment for cancer itself.
