First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tested a technique called cystoinflation, where the bladder is gently filled with saline during surgery, to see if it helps prevent bladder injuries in women with placenta accreta spectrum (a condition where the placenta grows too deeply into the uterus). 84 women took part, half receiving the bladder fill and half not. The goal was to compare how often bladder injuries occurred between the two groups.
