New hope for CF constipation: phase 3 trial tests approved IBS drug

NCT ID NCT06810167

Summary

This study is testing whether a medication called tenapanor, already approved for IBS with constipation, can help relieve constipation in people with cystic fibrosis. Twenty-five participants will take the drug twice daily for four weeks while tracking their bowel movements and symptoms. Researchers will measure changes in how often people have bowel movements and how much their constipation symptoms improve.
