First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study will compare cycling and jogging in 90 adults with gout who have had ankle attacks. Researchers will track gout flare frequency, blood uric acid levels, and ankle joint health using ultrasound and MRI over time.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- cycling and jogging
- What this could lead to
- If cycling proves better than jogging, it could offer a simple, low-impact exercise option to help people with gout reduce flare-ups and protect their ankle joints.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small exploratory study that hasn't started yet, so results are uncertain. Exercise may not significantly change gout attack frequency, and individual responses can vary.
