One-Shot radiation boost aims to reduce skin damage in breast cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT02867423

Summary

This study tested whether a single, precise radiation treatment using CyberKnife technology could replace multiple standard radiation sessions given after lumpectomy for early-stage breast cancer. Researchers wanted to see if this approach could reduce skin redness, swelling, and pain while still effectively controlling the cancer. The trial involved 29 women who had already completed standard breast radiation treatment.
