Custom stents aim to tame deadly aortic bulges
NCT ID NCT02043691
Summary
This study is testing three types of custom-made stent grafts to treat dangerous bulges or tears in the body's main artery (the aorta) near vital branches to organs and the brain. The goal is to see if these less invasive, tube-like devices can safely repair these complex areas, potentially reducing hospital time, lung complications, and death compared to open surgery. Researchers will follow 410 patients for five years to track safety and how well the repairs hold up.
