First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 34 times
Summary
This study looked at whether taking a supplement containing curcumin (from turmeric) and piperine (from black pepper) could help reduce inflammation and oxidative stress in 50 adults who had a severe heart attack and underwent a procedure to open blocked arteries. Participants took the supplement or a placebo for 28 days. The goal was to see if the supplement could lower markers of inflammation and cell damage, potentially supporting recovery and reducing future heart risks.
