Blood condition linked to worse heart attack outcomes?
NCT ID NCT07615023
First seen May 30, 2026 · Last updated Jun 06, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study explores whether a common, age-related blood condition called CHIP (Clonal Hematopoiesis of Indeterminate Potential) leads to more severe heart damage in people who have a major heart attack (STEMI). Researchers will enroll 350 patients aged 18-75 and use advanced imaging and genetic testing to measure heart injury and track recovery over 4 years. The goal is to understand why some patients fare worse than others, which could guide future treatments.
