Tribal wisdom meets modern health: new program aims to shield youth from harm
NCT ID NCT07460973
Summary
This study is testing a culturally-centered education program designed to prevent substance use and promote mental and sexual health among American Indian youth. Over 800 youth, parents, and school staff on the Fort Peck Reservation will participate in workshops and teachings that blend modern health education with traditional cultural values. Researchers will compare the program group to a control group to see if it leads to healthier choices regarding drugs, alcohol, sex, and mental well-being.
