Summary
This study tests an experimental drug called CTX-712 in people with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) that have come back or not responded to treatment. The drug is taken by mouth once or twice weekly. The trial aims to find the safest dose and see if it can shrink or control the cancer. About 225 adults will take part across multiple centers.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- CTX-712 (an experimental oral drug taken once or twice weekly)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a new treatment option for people with hard-to-treat AML or MDS, potentially helping control the disease.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early-phase trial (Phase 1/2) with only 225 participants, so the drug may not work or could have serious side effects. It is not a cure and long-term benefits are unknown.
