Summary
This study tested whether using regular CT scans (taken for other reasons) can help predict who is at risk for spine fractures better than the current standard method. Researchers looked at bone density and existing fractures in CT images from nearly 2,800 older adults over five years. The goal was to see if this simple, no-extra-test approach could improve fracture prediction without additional doctor visits or radiation.
