Blood test plus genetic score may sharpen recurrence prediction in endometrial cancer
NCT ID NCT07681414
First seen Jul 02, 2026 ยท Last updated Jul 02, 2026
Summary
This observational study looks at whether combining a blood test that detects tumor DNA (ctDNA) with a new genetic risk score can better predict if endometrial cancer will come back after surgery. Researchers will follow 52 women who had a hysterectomy for endometrial cancer, collecting blood and tumor tissue for genetic analysis. The goal is to see if this combined approach helps identify who needs more or less aggressive follow-up treatment.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could lead to more personalized treatment decisions for endometrial cancer, helping some patients avoid unnecessary therapy while ensuring others get the intensive care they need.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small observational study, not a treatment trial. The findings may not change practice without larger, randomized studies to confirm them.
