Blood cells may reveal hidden cancer return

NCT ID NCT04696744

First seen Mar 16, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looked at whether special cells in the blood, called circulating tumor cells (CTCs), can help predict if oropharyngeal cancer will come back. Researchers took blood samples from 12 patients at different times to measure these cells. The goal was to see if CTCs could be used alongside regular check-ups to catch cancer recurrence early.
