First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study looked at whether adding a CT scan of the legs and pelvis to the standard chest scan helps find more blood clots in women who may have a pulmonary embolism (a clot in the lung) within six weeks after giving birth. Researchers enrolled 125 women and compared detection rates. The goal was to see if the extra scan improves diagnosis without causing harm.
