New scan aims to help lung surgeons get it right the first time

NCT ID NCT07242053

Summary

This study is testing a new way to help surgeons during lung cancer surgery. Right after removing a piece of lung, they will scan it with a CT machine in the operating room to see if they got enough healthy tissue around the cancer. The goal is to give the surgeon immediate feedback so they can decide right then if they need to remove more tissue, which could help prevent the cancer from coming back and avoid more treatments later.
