First seen Apr 07, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests a new plastic mouth retractor (a device that holds the mouth open during surgery) to see if it works as well as the standard metal one. The plastic version allows for better CT scans during the procedure. About 20 adults with oral or throat cancer will take part. The goal is to confirm the plastic retractor provides the same surgical access as the metal one.
