Could freezing dangerous heart plaque stop a heart attack?
NCT ID NCT05600088
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This early study tests a new freezing treatment for people who recently had a heart attack or unstable chest pain. The treatment uses a special balloon to freeze high-risk plaque in the heart's arteries that could rupture and cause another heart attack. The goal is to stabilize the plaque and lower that risk. Thirty participants will be followed for one year to check safety and how well the freezing works.
