Deep freeze tested to ease breast cancer Drug's painful side effect
NCT ID NCT05315011
Summary
This study is testing if whole-body cryotherapy (brief exposure to extreme cold) can reduce joint pain caused by hormone therapy in breast cancer patients. 70 participants with this pain will be randomly assigned to receive either a full 4.5-minute cold treatment or a shorter 1-minute placebo treatment. The main goal is to see if the longer cold exposure provides better pain relief after 6 weeks, which could help patients continue their essential cancer medication.
