Chilling discovery: cooling sleeve may stop chemo nerve pain

Summary

This study tests a special cooling sleeve worn on the arms and legs during chemotherapy to prevent nerve damage, a common side effect. About 80 cancer patients receiving weekly paclitaxel will try the device. Researchers will check for side effects and ask patients about numbness, tingling, and pain before, during, and up to a year after treatment.
