Freezing nerves may shorten hospital stay after chest surgery

Summary

This study tested if freezing the nerves between the ribs (cryoablation) could reduce hospital stay compared to standard epidural pain medicine in 50 young people aged 12-24 having Nuss surgery for pectus excavatum (sunken chest). The goal was to see which method controls pain better and gets patients home sooner. Results will help doctors choose the best pain management approach for this procedure.
