Freeze and fight: new combo therapy trial aims to extend lives in advanced lung cancer

Summary
This study is for people newly diagnosed with a type of advanced lung cancer that has spread. It tests if adding a procedure called cryoablation—which freezes and destroys one tumor—to the standard three-drug therapy helps patients live longer. About 214 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the standard drugs alone or the drugs plus the freezing procedure.
