Scientists hunt for Age-Specific clues in Crohn's disease gut

NCT ID NCT02839317

Summary

This study aimed to understand if Crohn's disease is different in people who develop it as children versus older adults by comparing their gut bacteria. Researchers analyzed stool samples from 214 participants, including patients and healthy controls, to look for patterns linked to age. The goal was to gather knowledge that could one day lead to more personalized treatments based on when a person's disease started.
