Can a common supplement fight 'Chemo Brain'? major trial launches
NCT ID NCT07372144
Summary
This study aims to see if taking creatine, a supplement often used by athletes, can help prevent or reduce the memory and thinking problems known as 'chemo brain' that many breast cancer patients experience during chemotherapy. Researchers will compare creatine to a placebo in 227 women with early-stage breast cancer, measuring their self-reported cognitive function and performance on memory tests. Participants will take the supplement starting a week before chemotherapy and continue for a year after treatment ends.
