Cranberry mystery: why it fights UTIs for some women but not others

NCT ID NCT04626362

Summary

This study aims to understand why cranberry juice helps prevent urinary tract infections (UTIs) in some women but not others. Researchers are testing whether women can be divided into 'responders' and 'non-responders' based on how their bodies process cranberry compounds. The study involves 55 healthy women providing urine samples before and after drinking cranberry juice to measure its anti-bacterial effects.
