Talking it out: PTSD therapy may lower heart risk

Summary

This study tests whether a type of talk therapy called Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) can reduce heart disease risk in people with PTSD. Thirty adults with PTSD and heart risk factors will receive either CPT or be placed on a waitlist. Researchers will measure changes in brain activity, inflammation, and heart function to see if the therapy improves both mental and heart health.
