Researchers check for muscle side effects in cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT01248429

Summary

This study aimed to understand how often a muscle enzyme called CPK increases in cancer patients taking a common type of drug called tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). It involved 154 patients with solid tumors who had been on TKI treatment for at least a week. The researchers checked routine blood tests to measure CPK levels and see if higher levels were linked to muscle pain.
