Can a sleep machine help heal a Stroke-Damaged heart?
NCT ID NCT04458779
Summary
This study tested if using a CPAP machine to treat sleep apnea could help the heart recover in people who recently had a stroke. Researchers followed 71 stroke patients with sleep apnea for a year, measuring heart size and blood markers. They wanted to see if the CPAP treatment reduced strain on the heart, which might lower the risk of future strokes or heart problems.
